Michael Henry was born and raised in Michigan. He received both his BFA and MFA from Eastern Michigan University in 1972 and 1975 respectfully. During this time, he developed an avid interest in clay modeling, bronze casting, and painting. In 1976, he moved to the Memphis area where he and a friend built a foundry to cast his bronze scul
Michael Henry was born and raised in Michigan. He received both his BFA and MFA from Eastern Michigan University in 1972 and 1975 respectfully. During this time, he developed an avid interest in clay modeling, bronze casting, and painting. In 1976, he moved to the Memphis area where he and a friend built a foundry to cast his bronze sculptures. His sculpture and painting studio is located in Earle, Arkansas. He has exhibited his bronze pieces and paintings in New York City and Long Island NY, New Orleans LA, Memphis TN, Boulder CO, Little Rock AR, Destin FL, Bradenton FL, Annapolis MD, Art Prize 2016, 2017, and 2018 Grand Rapids MI, Maryland Federation of Art, Circle Gallery, Annapolis MD 2019, 54th Annual National Drawing and small Sculpture Show, Corpus Christi TX 2020. Winter Exhibition Exhibizone - Online 2021, COMING FORTH: Images in Bronze - Solo Exhibition - Exhibizone 2021, Nuditas Exhibizone 2021, Magix Exhibizone 2022, Emerge Gallery & Art Center Greenville NC 2024. My Inspiration
Man cannot exist in isolation. Even when alone, he interacts with his environment whether it is real or imagine (fantasy). Although this may not be profound, but consider: how does one as an artist reach his viewer, create his impact, yet maintain a nebulous atmosphere in which all people may find themselves in the art?
Finally, the figur
Man cannot exist in isolation. Even when alone, he interacts with his environment whether it is real or imagine (fantasy). Although this may not be profound, but consider: how does one as an artist reach his viewer, create his impact, yet maintain a nebulous atmosphere in which all people may find themselves in the art?
Finally, the figure more than a simple empathetic identification, provides a magnificent vehicle for all emotion through line, shape, and volume. It thus gives us a powerful medium for retrospection on future fantasy while searching for a resolution to the paradox of the joy and sadness, and the interaction and isolation that co-exist in our world.

For me, creating art is a search for, and finding resolutions of my thoughts and desires. It "ALL" still amazes me. Whether you find it in your art, or in something else, it is finding happiness in what you do.
